As of January 1, 2024, QATAR nationals planning to visit Turkey are legally required to have valid travel health insurance.

Comprehensive Explanation of the New Travel Health Insurance Requirement for Visitors to Turkey

Effective Date:
- The new travel health insurance requirement will come into effect on January 1, 2024.
​
Who is Affected:
- This requirement applies to Qatar. Qatar nationals planning to visit Turkey, regardless of the purpose of their visit (tourism, business, education, etc.), must comply with this regulation.
​
Minimum Coverage Period:
- Travel health insurance must cover at least the first 15 days of their stay in Turkey. This means that the insurance policy must be valid from the date of entry into Turkey and continue to be valid for at least 15 days thereafter.
​
​Proof of Insurance:
Visitors must carry proof of travel health insurance when entering Turkey. This proof may be requested by immigration officials at the point of entry.
​
​Policy Language:
It is recommended that the insurance policy be in English to facilitate verification by Turkish authorities. Policies in other languages ​​may be required to be accompanied by a certified translation.
​
Enforcement:
- Turkish immigration authorities will enforce this requirement at all points of entry, including airports, ports and land borders.
- Visitors without valid travel health insurance may be denied entry to Turkey.

OPTION 1
You have a valid Supporting Document
1. Valid Visa:Travelers must have a valid visa from one of the following countries:
- Schengen Countries
- United States (USA)
- United Kingdom (UK)
- Ireland

2. E-Visas Not Accepted:Only physical visas issued by the above-mentioned countries are accepted. E-visas (electronic visas) are not accepted as supporting documents.​
OPTION 2
You have a valid Residence Permit
1. To apply for a Turkey visa as a residence permit holder, the residence permit must be from one of the following countries:

Austria,Belgium,Czech Republic,Denmark,Estonia,Finland,France, Germany,Greece,Hungary,Iceland,Italy,Latvia,Liechtenstein

2. Important Notes:

E-Visas Not Accepted: Electronic visas (e-visas) are not accepted as supporting documents for Turkey visa applications.

Residence Permit Validity: The residence permit must be valid at the time of applying for the Turkey visa.

You have a valid Residence Permit
Citizens of countries with a valid residence permit in one of the following countries can apply for a Turkey visa for holiday purposes.
